IN THE PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO

Holder of a State Diploma in Martial Arts from the age of 23 (1984) : 24 years of teaching experience as State certified and 34 years of practice in martial arts.

Born on 19 June 1961, 46-year-old Claude POUGET, Master in law and Politics Sciences (Domestic Sécurity), Degree in law and holder of a diploma in Superior European Studies started practicing martial arts 36 years ago: having started with judo at the age of 10, he started karate in 1973.

Ten years later, in 1984, he was made the youngest leader in martial arts in the Principality of Monaco by becoming the chief instructor at J.C. Monaco’s karate Section (where he had previously been an assistant instructor) and giving it a new boost in then process. With this historic origin, he has the longest martial arts professor carrier in the Principality of Monaco.

Already at this time, he had some serious references. He was selected to be trained at the French federal school of karate masters and obtained, after one year, the diploma as a federal instructor (top of his class) as well as, the same year, the French State Diploma (FFTKAMA 1984 - including Taekwondo and Kung Fu Wushu) for the teaching of karate and tributary martial arts. These titles were preceded by the awarding of a black belt (top of his class), the 2nd dan in the presence of Sensei OSHIMA and the federal 3rd dan (1986) at the age of 25. He also has a solid multi-purpose experience in fighting arts, having practiced several disciplines (full contact, kickboxing, English boxing, self defence), awarded with almost a hundred competitive victories.

A hundred competitive wins in various disciplines !

Egged on by the pleasure to test the efficiency of his techniques and his fighting spirit, Claude POUGET, multi martial arts practionners, has trained and in several disciplines and fought in different officiels fighting disciplines : In Western Boxing; he si unbeaten in 12 matches in the colours of A.S. Monaco, including four victories before the end ; In 1984, he became the French military (air) karate champion and Côte d’Azur champion in : tae kwon do, karate, contact karate and Kung fu /kickboxing/full contact. In 1996, he become in Sambo world vice-champion as part of the French team and came 4th individually, whilst still learning the ropes.

Twenty four years’ teaching experience as state diploma professor

After becoming in 1984 the youngest head instructor in activity in Monaco at 23, he continues training and teaching by creating in 1987 the Monaco Shotokan Karate Club and becoming its technical director. After running several other martial arts clubs especially as relates to the business and personal security sector, he introduced sambo to Monaco, creating in 1997 the Monaco Sambo Club, today known as the “Monaco Academy of Self Defence”, as well as the Karate and Martial Arts Academies of Cap d’Ail, of which he is the technical director. He created and was the technical director of Karate section of A.S.C.Turbiasque. He has earned forteean different teaching certificates.

Fifteen teaching certificates in Fighting Arts

He has carried on in his varied technical training, opening himself up to numerous other disciplines: he is now an expert in defensive kickboxing and has nine black belts for twenty-to Dans (6th dan in kickboxing, 4th dan in karate, 3rd dan in full contact, 3rd dan in Sambo and 3rd degree in defensive kickboxing, International certified in Krav maga, 1st khan in muay thai, and black level in wrestling) and has Fifteen teaching certifications (instructor in defensive kickboxing and kickboxing, French State diploma 2°holder in karate and krav maga, monitor in full contact, Pancrace, jeet kune do, federal provost and instructor in western boxing, instructor in free and Greco-Roman wrestling, instructor in muay thai, sambo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, tonfa and defensive stick-wielding). He therefore has a solid background in self-defence.

International Self-Defense Concept : creation of his own concept in self-defence

His experience has helped him design his own approach to self-defence : INTERNATIONAL SELF-DEFENSE CONCEPT which has detailed itself on one side through his varied experience of fighting arts (karate, western boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, full contact, pancrace, muay thai, sambo, krav maga, Brazilian jiu jitsu, wrestling etc) and on the other with his on-the-job professional experience in the security of goods and persons (VIP protection etc). He constantly perfects himself in his practice and his teaching of martial arts.

Instructor for civilians and security business professionals

Claude POUGET keeps improving by practising in Monaco, France but also throughout the world (Tokyo, Okinawa, Beijing, Shaolin, Los Angeles, Bangkok, Moscow etc). In parallel with the lessons he gives in Monaco or Cap d’Ail, he manages courses for civilians and also for professionals of the security industry (private security, local police, gendarmes etc), whilst assuming his technical responsibilities on a national basis.

National Technical Responsibilities in Monaco in Krav Maga and Kickboxing, in France for Defensive Kickboxing

Claude POUGET is technical director of the Monegasque Kickboxing and Krav Maga federations he founded in Monaco in 2001.

In France, Claude POUGET is member of the national management board of the French Kick-Boxing Federation (F.F.K.B.D.A) et Chief of National Defense Kick-Boxing Department : he manage and runs the national courses for instructor training. He is vice-president of the Alpes Maritimes Departemental Federal Comitte, co-responsible of black belt examination.

He is responsible of the Provence et Côte d'Azur French Region for Grappling in the Wrestling french federation.

Claude POUGET is professor for the school national instructor in the Regional (Cote d'Azur) French Federal School of Karate of the French Karate Fedaration for the teaching of the legislation (practical et theoretical) of Self-Defense.
